Tarot Reading for the Winter Solstice

This time I will be sharing a Sacred Card Reading for the Winter Solstice.  Jackie and I always do
an entire Wheel of the Year for ourselves, and it seems very important to us that we honor the Sacred Quarters of the year together with all of you.  We wish to honor the cycles of Grand Mother Earth and to connect to her rhythms.

This is a 4 Card Layout with the positions explained below:

Card 1. Solstice itself.  The energies it carries for this quarter.
Card 2. Challenges or opportunities that may arise.
Card 3. Result or outcome of working with the first two cards.
Card 4. Gift of Spirit freely given to aid us in a particular way that is needed at this time.

Card 1.  XIV TEMPERANCE:  No matter what is going on in our lives or in our world moderation is the KEY to this time period.  This is a time of purification of our inner self in order to give up illusions, ineffective beliefs, pride, attachments, and dysfunctional patterns that keep us from becoming our true sacred selves.  It teaches us control, discipline, and patience.  The Angel reminds us bring harmony into all aspects of our lives, and to remember that the material world must be balanced with the spiritual.

Card 2. VII CHARIOT:  Freedom will only come if we acknowledge that it is not us/our egos that are running the show.  It is our Higher Self inside us that is the driver of the Chariot.  That is why no reins are needed; it comes from within.  To relinquish our ego as the manager of our lives is both the challenge and opportunity for this winter quarter.

Card 3.  9 PENTACLES:  If we have practiced moderation and balanced ourselves emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually, and let go of our ego driven habits, then this is our reward.  Success on the material plane.  Success that has been earned and worked and sacrificed for.  We have utilized our talents and skills and taken action.

Card 4.  7 WANDS:  The gift of Spirit will aid us to stand up for ourselves and speak our truths.  Some area of life requires that we be honest, create a backbone, and speak out.  There may be hard truths that need to be said, although this is not about hurtful vendettas.  Spirit is saying, " I see that you require some help in this arena, and here I am."

Tarot Reading for the Summer Solstice by Charlene Mullen

Hello Everyone,

At each of the solstice and equinox quarters of the year I do a Tarot reading for myself to tune into the energies of the season and to align myself with the currents of Grandmother Earth. This always shows me things that I need to pay attention to in my life and often points to what needs to be done, or what may need to be undone.

So as I was pondering this for myself, I thought that perhaps our readers might benefit from this as well. I chose a Spread that I find is simple and to the point. It shows me what is presently the issue, the challenge of working with that energy, the gift or ally that will help me, and the proposed outcome if I follow the guidance it is showing me.

The purpose of the reading is to provide a focus, or a state of mind, for you to hold, ponder, or draw upon during the summer quarter. Following are the energies that chose to speak to all of us at this time. To them, I say "Wado" - or Thank You

WHAT IS REVEALED: 21 The World

TEST: 6 Lovers

GIFT: 0 Fool

OUTCOME: 14 Temperance

The first thing to note is that all cards are from the Major Arcana! This signifies the highly spiritual nature for the summer quarter.

What is Revealed is completion. It is already manifest. Perhaps it is awaiting our acknowledgement so that it actually appears in our lives. It signifies achievement, peak performance, total harmony and success. No struggle. I and the World are one. Here there is peace, interconnection, and serenity with self, life and others. Allow yourself to dance with spirit in all ways-allow spirit to dance you. Remember who you really are.

The Test is to marry the male and female within us for balance. It also means the marriage of the human and divine within us. It is the union of opposites within our being. Once I can balance my inner female/male and open to the divine within me, then I can bring harmony to my relationships. I will stop expecting you to do and be what I already am inside. I don’t need you to complete me. I will be with you for the sheer joy and learning the relationship offers. This card also points to a choice that must be made in one’s life at this time. This could point to a decision regarding a relationship: partner, family, work, etc. It is time for discrimination in some major arena that can affect the first cards’ actual success or manifestation.

The Gift is to let go, trust, and jump. Spirit is in charge, so open up to the possibilities. Let go of fear, doubt, guilt, blame, or whatever stands in the way of manifestation and completion in you world. You have all you will ever need to become what you already are. Trust yourself, trust you own truth, listen to you inner voice, decide, and JUMP. As this card is in the position of Gift, it means we already have this-it is a given for us at this time.

The Outcome is the alchemist, which is you. As you mix and stir the elements of you life: body, mind, heart, spirit, you must experiment for the balance that works for you. What is in excess? What is lacking? What is just right? Which aspect of your life needs attention? Allow the voice of your highest self to guide, guard, inspire you to your peak experiences; to allow you to become The World Dancer in all you do.
